Anonymous asked: What kind of gpa and things did you have to do for wake. Also any recommendations about what I can do now to help my chances if I'm a sophomore. Thanks so much!
I didn’t do too well on my SAT, so I definitely recommend starting prep right off the bat Junior year and thinking thoroughly about whether or not to take ACT or SAT. Wake is test optional though! Be sure to take AP classes, I’ll have taken 6.5 (when I moved I had to drop an AP because my school didn’t offer it). Also be sure to get involved in class and outside of class! Always participate in class, go to see your teachers, and don’t be afraid to ask for help. Try to have leadership shown on your app as well. Overall, don’t worry. Wake truly looks at applicants holistically. Best of luck!
Anonymous asked: Hi! I'm a junior and I loved Wake. I'm hoping to apply next year! Do you mind giving me any advice? Are there any qualifications you had during high school that you thought helped with the application process? Also, did you do a face to face interview, and if so, what did you wear? Sorry for all of the questions:) Thanks so much, I love your blog!
Yay! I love Wake too! I live abroad so when I visited this summer I did a face to face interview. I’ll post a pic of what I wore, but it was a pink seersucker dress. Some people wore business-y attire but I figured since it was the dead of summer and hot I would wear the dress! I think my leadership skills helped me in my application. I’ve done 2 leadership programs and am an officer of a club as well as a natural leader for my debate team. Wake is big on service so make sure you’re involved. Also, during my interview it wasn’t as much “get to know me” questions, it was more opinionated discussion questions. She also asked me about y schedule for senior year and which classes I was looking forward to and why. I interviewed with the Dean so I was really nervous, but don’t stress! Best of luck with all your apps!
